Simon Charlton, PREMIER SOCCER ACADEMY STAFF COACH

Simon Cooper, works alongside Academy Manager Tony Philliskirk as Head Of Academy Coaching.

His role is to work with the Academy Manager as Head Of Coaching in building our Elite Player Performance Plan, which consists of building a business plan around the club’s vision and football philosophy. It is my role to make sure the plan is implemented and delivered to every single player in our academy and that all staff work towards SMART targets and produce and perform to the overall goals and aims of the OAFC Academy Plan.

Everything is measured and analyzed to give every player the best support possible in helping them become professional football players and better young men.

The OAFC EPPP is a 230-page document that covers the club’s 5 year plan, which includes a coaching plan and sports science program, as well as many other goals policies and procedures. The full Academy Performance Plan is the key to the club’s youth productivity that fill the required 9 KPI's required by the Premier League and Football League.

The OAFC Elite Player Performance Plan was written by Tony Philliskirk, Mick Priest and Simon in 2013. They were successfully recommended for Cat 3 status in June 2014 after an audit by Footpass.

The fruits of this plan and the extra contact hours with players and more player specific criteria in recruitment will increase player productivity.
